Download the CE MC3200 Clean Boot Package For Windows CE from the MC3200 support page.
Possible files are (note new versions may be released):
32xxc70xxxDBA00001.zip contains MC32 CE 7.0 Clean boot and Blank files.
From the Temp folder on the MC32.
NOTE The battery must have at least a 30% charge or be connected to AC power for the update to begin.
Unzip the clean boot package zip file and extract the OSUpdate folder to your PC.
Connect the MC32N0 to your PC using the USB Cradle or USB Communication Cable.
On your PC, use ActiveSync to copy the entire OSUpdate folder to the root \TEMP folder on the MC32N0.
From the MC32N0, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the TEMP folder.
Open the OSUpdate folder.
Double-tap the 32N0c70Ben_TEMP shortcut file.
The update process will begin and a progress bar will be displayed while the update is progressing.
The MC32N0 will reboot when the process is complete, and the calibration screen will be displayed (pressing the Esc key cancels calibration).
Using an SD card
NOTE The battery must have at least a 30% charge or be connected to AC power for the update to begin.
Unzip the ZIP file and copy the OSUpdate folder to the root of the Storage Card folder.
Place the SD card in the device to be upgraded.
From the MC32N0, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the \Storage Card\OSUpdate folder.
Open the OSUpdate folder.
Double-tap the 32N0c70Ben_SD shortcut file.
The update process will begin, and a progress bar will be displayed while the update is progressing.
The MC32N0 will reboot when the process is complete, and the calibration screen will be displayed (pressing the Esc key cancels calibration).
Using the Bootloader
Using the Bootloader to download hex files to the MC32N0 from an SD card.
Unzip the clean boot package zip file and extract the OSUpdate folder to your PC.
Create a folder name MC32N0 on the root of the Micro SD card.
Copy the Cleanplat.hex and Cleanappl.hex files from the OSUpdate\Images folder to the MC32N0 folder on the SD Card.
Insert the SD card into the MC32N0.
Insert the MC32 into a Cradle with AC power.
To Boot the Bootloader menu on the MC32, simultaneously press and hold 1 + 9 + Power Key to reboot the MC32, it will power off.
Immediately release 1 + 9 + Power keys and then:
On the MC32N0 G Pistol grip devices, press and hold the pistol grip trigger.
On the MC32N0 non-pistol grip devices, press and hold the right scan button. When the Bootloader screen appears, release the trigger or the scan button.
Use the arrow keys to navigate to Download from SD card and press Enter.
PTo wipe the device configuration, use the arrow keys to navigate to Cleanplat.hex. Press Enter.
Press Enter when the message "Erasing Platform" "Operation complete" > "Hit Enter to Acknowledge" is displayed.
To reformat the Application drive, use the arrow keys to navigate to Cleanappl.hex. Press Enter.
Press Enter when the message " Erasing Application " "Operation complete" > "Hit Enter to Acknowledge" is displayed.
Navigate to All Done. Press Enter.
Navigate to Exit. Press Enter.
The MC32N0 will reboot, and the calibration screen will be displayed (pressing the Esc key cancels calibration).
